(Part 4)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Part IV: Fast<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Tehillim<\/i> ends much as it begins with the ensemble taking a backseat to the contrapuntal voices.  However, in Part IV, in contrast to Part I, the counterpoint is much more dense and intricate.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, <i>Tehillim<\/i> is a great work; I love counterpoint and melodies and this is as good as almost any.  It also has that lovely medieval cathedral-like sound.  But, I think <i>Early Works<\/i> is probably more important and even better.  <i>Early Works<\/i> (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Gonna Rain\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Come Out\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, especially) had (and have) things that I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t heard anywhere else.  And there <i>is<\/i> music in \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Gonna Rain\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Come Out\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.  Both have intricacies and subtleties that make for interesting repeated listening.  They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not just concept pieces in which, once you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve heard the concept, you say, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s nice\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, and move on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Part IV: Fast Tehillim ends much as it begins with the ensemble taking a backseat to the contrapuntal voices.
